Story
Once upon a time, a girl named Kagome Higurashi lived on an ancient shrine in modern day Tokyo. On her 15th birthday, she was pulled down an ancient well on the shrine and found herself back in Feudal Japan where she meets the half-demon boy named Inuyasha...Not long after, Inuyasha discovers that Kagome has the Sacred Jewel in her possession, the same jewel the priestess Kikyo died protecting 50 years ago. Now he, along with countless other demons, is after the sacred jewel that can give extraordinary powers to anyone who uses it. But while trying to retrieve the Jewel from a demon, Kagome accidentally shatters the Jewel into hundreds of pieces!
Now Inuyasha and Kagome have joined forces to find all the shards of the Shikon Jewel before anyone else does.
Characters
Inuyasha: Inuyasha is a half-demon born to a powerful demon father and a beautiful human mother. He sought the power of the Shikon Jewel to turn into a full demon, but he was sealed by one of Kikyo’s arrows. 50 years later, the seal was broken by Kagome, and he began his search once again for the Shikon Jewel. Later he falls for Kagome but doesn’t admit it. With Kagome and friends at his side, he protects them from demons such as Naraku who seeks the Jewel for their own evil purposes.
Kagome Higurashi: A 15-year old girl who lived with her family at the Higurashi Shrine who fell into the Bone Eater’s Well on the grounds of the Shrine and was transported back to feudal era Japan. As the reincarnation of Kikyo, she carried the Shikon Jewel inside her body. Kagome first met Inuyasha when she broke Kikyo’s seal. She falls for Inuyasha and gets jealous whenever she finds out that Inuyasha went off to meet Kikyo in private. She journeys with Inuyasha and friends to recover all the shards of the Shikon Jewel. 
Shippo: A young demon fox. He met Inuyasha and the others when he tried to steal the shards of the Shikon Jewel as a means to avenge his father’s death by the Thunder Brothers. With the help of Inuyasha and Kagome, he successfully got his revenge, and then decided to come along on their journey. 
Miroku: A priest with a “Wind Tunnel” in his right hand that sucks everything in. To break the “Wind Tunnel” curse that will even suck him in, he travels on a journey to slay Naraku and gather the shards of the Shikon Jewel. With the common goal of defeating Naraku, he join forces with Inuyasha on his journey. 
Sango: The daughter of a family of demon exterminators, she uses a huge weapon called the Hiraikotsu. While on a demon hunting mission with her father and little brother, Kohaku, Kohaku became controlled by Naraku and killed her father. Even now, she continues her journey to rescue Kohaku, who has lost his memory and is still being controlled by Naraku. 
Kirara: Kiara is Sango’s loyal companion and a cat demon. In her normal form, Kirara is a small kitten with two tails, but when her help is needed or trouble strikes, she changes into a huge cat with sharp fangs and claws. In this form she can also fly, and can carry others. 
Myoga: Myoga is a flea demon and has been a companion to both Inuyasha and his father for a very long time. He is quite knowledgeable, and often provides Inuyasha and the others with much needed information. He is also very fond of sucking blood from both humans and demons, which is usually an annoyance, but it can save the lives of those who have been poisoned. 
Naraku: Possessed by many demons, a bandit named Onigumo became the evil Naraku. Not only did he set a trap for Inuyasha and Kikyo 50 years ago, but he also put a “Wind Tunnel” curse on Miroku’s family and destroyed the village of the demon exterminators, Sango’s hometown. He is the group’s mortal enemy. 
Kagura: Kagura is the second incarnation of Naraku, and as such, she is deeply part of him. Surprisingly, she tends to dislike him. Her main goal is to free herself from his control, yet she must still do as he commands. While she does pose a threat to Inuyasha and the others, she begins to think that it might be a good idea to let them try to kill Naraku. Once she even tries to get Sesshomaru to destroy him for her. 
Kanna: Kanna was the first incarnation of Naraku who carries with her a magic mirror which can be used to steal the souls of the living, and then take control of their bodies. Naraku is also able to watch things through her mirror. Unlike Kagura, Kanna is completely loyal to Naraku, and often is responsible for giving orders to the other incarnations. She is void of all emotion and personality. 
Hakudoshi: Hakudoushi is one of the many incarnations of Naraku who is very powerful in terms of strength and his use of weapons. He generally uses a spear and can regenerate indefinitely because no attack can kill him. He can also summon up a very strong barrier like Naraku, which protects against almost any attack. Hakudoushi also holds a special link with Naraku that the other incarnations do not. He often threatens Kagura since he knows of her plans to betray Naraku. 
Kohaku: Kohaku is the younger brother of Sango and they are both demon exterminators. Like his sister, he is well trained in battle. He uses a chained sickle to fight but as strong as he is, he it still somewhat inexperienced compared to Sango.
After his first demon hunt with all the demon exterminators, Kohaku was possessed by the lord of the mansion and was made to kill the other members of the exterminator tribe. Naraku was responsible for all of this, and he still controls Kohaku's mind. 
Sesshomaru: Inuyasha’s half-brother from the same father, he is a full demon. He despises and detests Inuyasha and his half-human blood. He had been relentlessly searching for his father’s priced sword “Tetsusaiga”, but Inuyasha got it first and used it to cut off his left arm. 
Jaken: As the servant of Sesshomaru, Jaken follows him around everywhere and eventually even becomes friends with Rin. He is always trying to do things to please Sesshomaru, and he rarely succeeds. He is quite a bothersome character and it is amazing that Sesshomaru puts up with him. 
Rin: A young girl who lost her family to a group of killers, Rin wandered from village to village stealing food to survive until she was caught and hurt by a group of villagers and forced to flee. She later discovered Sesshomaru, who had recently fought Inuyasha, and tried to help him by offering him food, but he does not accept. Soon after, Rin's village is attacked my Koga and the wolf demon tribe, and she is mortally wounded. She is brought back to life with the power of Sesshomaru's sword, Tenseiga. After this, Rin follows Sesshomaru wherever he goes. 
Kikyo: Kikyo was the original protector of the Shikon Jewel. She would do anything she could to stop any demon who tried to gain it. As much as she hated demons, she and Inuyasha somehow become friends. He was special to her, and they both still have feelings for each other. Naraku, wanting the Jewel for himself, tricked Inuyasha and Kikyo into fighting each other. Kikyo ended up shooting Inuyasha with her arrow, and binding him to a tree for 50 years, which eventually resulted in her death. Later Kikyo was resurrected but she is only still half human. She has her body, but her soul has been reincarnated into Kagome. She still has feelings for Inuyasha, and has no care for those that stand in her way. 
Koga: The leader of the wolf demon tribe, Koga is extremely fast and strong, partly because of the Shikon Jewel shards in his legs. His senses are very strong, much like Inuyasha. When he first meets Kagome, he is mainly interested in her ability to see the shards of the Shikon Jewel. Like many demons, he would like to gain all of the shards. Koga and Inuyasha do not always get along, especially since they both want to keep Kagome away from the other, but they do sometimes help each other in times of need. 
Totosai: The sword smith who forged Inuyasha’s Tetsusaiga and Sesshomaru’s Tenseiga. Totosai forged these two swords from the fangs of Inutaishou, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s father. Tetsusaiga has the power to destroy 100 demons with a single blow, while the Tenseiga has the power to bring 100 creatures back to life. Aside from the ability to forge very powerful swords, Totosai can also breathe fire, which he does for protection, and for mending swords. Gallery
